a gin-drinker’s gin
As a well-travelled naval officer, Skip had more opportunity than most to use botanicals from all around the world. He carefully selected a few to give his gin the perfect balance – keeping it interesting and fresh, but smooth enough to be drunk neat (like he did).
Following his recipe, we tracked down piney juniper berries from Macedonia; zesty orange and lemon peel from Seville; cinnamon from the Seychelles for the spice; cassia bark from Indonesia for strength of flavour; Sri Lankan nutmeg for sweetness; Bulgarian coriander seeds for lemony citrus; orris root and liquorice for floral and woody sweetness and angelica for balance.
We think we’ve done Skip and his recipe proud!
